I’m Dr. Eimear O’Brien, and throughout my career I’ve delivered results for students, schools, and communities. I want to bring that expertise to the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools so that every child in every district has an equal opportunity to succeed.

Dr. Eimear O’Brien (formerly O’Farrell) served as superintendent of Clovis Unified School District until her retirement in June 2023. Her tenure was marked by strong academic performance, facility expansion, and navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Facility Expansion: In 2020, she oversaw the passage of Measure A, a $335 million facility bond, which funded major projects including modernizations and safety enhancements, and the construction of the Terry Bradley Educational Center (TBEC).

Pandemic Management: Led the district through the worldwide pandemic, focusing on student well-being and maintaining academic progress.

Fiscal Stability: Maintained the district on what her successor described as "solid financial footing" with strong reserves and growing enrollment.

Education is the foundation of our community, and my journey has been rooted in empowering students, supporting teachers, and fostering an environment where every child can succeed. Through innovative programs, collaborative partnerships, and strategic decision-making, I have consistently delivered results that matter—improved student outcomes, strengthened school systems, and enhanced resources for educators.
